School 2.0 -NETS Awareness

I looked into the fifth NETS which is engage in professional growth and leadership. I went to Digital Education which is a blog for professionals hosted by Education Week. I noted how there was a posting on an almost daily basis on an entirely different topic. This allows for educators to come to the site on a regular basis and get new information and stay current on the trends of technology in the classroom. For example, the post for today was one on the cyber charter school classroom which as classified is an alternative form of education for students to choose. This is comprised of partially online studying or fully online studying depending on the charter. This article speaks specifically to legislation being passed to hold the Tennessee Virtual Academy charter and others like it more accountable to their students education. It does not however go into detail about the legislation itself but instead gives information about what is going on. I felt as though this posting could have been a bit more inclusive of some of the things that were being discussed directly in the legislation.
